Homemade bearded dragon enclosure.

I am by no means a carpenter! This has been a great learning experience; it's the second cage/display that I've built. Now that's out of the way here is some information on the cage itself.

It's a plywood constructed cage with 1x2" ribs to make it more solid. All the seams are glued the bottom will be tiled and the sides will be grout covered foam. I will be putting a 2' light fixture that will burn a reptiglow 10.0 for UVB and the single basking light that you see in the video. I made the choice to go with tile for flooring to keep the dust and chance of impaction down and an easy to clean surface that carpet will not allow for. Plus I can put a large water bowl in and have no worries of tipping as this will be a hard surface.

Just let you know, your beardie will push on the vents and create a hole for crickets to escape. Nice cage

@RRPROTOTYPE The vents are plastic coated metel screen and metal on the outside. I don't feed them crickets either, but thanks.

Are the vents 100% necessary?

@dyehardpaintbal I would say yes, you need somewhere for the exchange of fresh air and for heat to escape. unless you use screen for the door.

have you tried to heat the bottom? glass is preferred with heating pads, what did you do with the tiles? or did you just use the heat lamp?
