Anybody here have an idea what chords Mayer is playing at the end of the video?

This is a good clip, hadn't seen it before. You can see the others' admiration of the sound Trucks coaxes from the slide -- for more genius, check out the Herbie Hancock version of 'Space Captain'. Slide guitar is something of an acquired taste, which is how artists like Sonny Landreth and Roy Rogers went largely unnoticed for years, even though they were clearly better than most of the stars. Clapton's heir is Joe Bonamassa, not Mayer or Frusciante. Another underrated singer.

Neither guy can hang with Derek Trucks at blues. That's his style. Yea, Mayer knows some stock flash licks, but he's not a blues player on Truck's level...

Its not that Fru isnt comfortable with the blues i dont think.. Hes prob just bored with it.. Hes not really about the playing so much as about being creative,, sometimes that might mean playing an awsome solo sometimes it might mean playing one note.. Hes in a different space all together than these guys theres really no point in comparing.. Totally different musicians just depends what your into,, its all subjective :-)

As a big fan of J. Frusciante, I have to admit he seems a bit "out of place" when u see this video. He's not really a blues, heavy, or rock guitar player. However, he goes in a completely different style that makes him unique and AMAZING.
Besides, he's more experienced and dedicated to music. I recommend his solo albums.

Hmmm....while I agree that it doesn't matter, it's still fun to argue. Superman IS stronger than Batman, though...come on. Now the Thing and Superman...or Wolverine and Batman.
