There probably isn't a more exciting time in the life of adolescents than the senior year of high school. Adults remembering that last year of being under the watchful eye of parents, teachers and other authority figures recall the odd mixture of excitement and nostalgia generated by knowing you're about to cross a major life threshold.

It's being on the cusp of adulthood and taking responsibility for yourself for the first time, while simultaneously making carefree, "final chapter" memories that will last a lifetime. It's truly stirring stuff and perhaps even moreso in reflection.

High school students seeking either to continue their education in college or to enter a vocational program often request letters of recommendation from school officials. And local newspapers always seek to fill their pages with profiles of students who have won scholarships and grants and who have gained admission to institutions of higher learning.

Sometimes it's just interesting to remember.

  • A CHANCE J. YOUNG (654-01-5246) was born on the first day of seemingly extraordinary threat: DEC. 16, 1996. Young died 3/3/99. Unrelated:

  • Unrelated to a CHANCE living at 402 Highway 121--Somewhere in Texas or Nebraska’s EAST BUTLER High in the video, public directories show a Belinda C. VANglahn (b. 1956) at 402 EASTwood PL, Lufkin, TX 75901. This could be the B. VANglahn who submitted the Cream Cheese Icing recipe to Dixie Crystals (distributed by Imperial-saVANnah LP of Sugar Land, TX). For what it’s worth: Another Belinda C. VANglahn (b. Mar. 1956) with the same telephone number was shown at 5209 champIONs Dr, Lufkin, TX 75901

  • A CHANCE living at 402 Highway 121--Somewhere in Texas--is unrelated to radio station KYKS-FM, located at 1216 S. First St., Lufkin, TX 75901. That's despite the recipe for Cream Cheese Icing from the kitchen of B. VANgLahn and shown on the back of a 32 oz. Dixie Crystals Confectioners Powdered Sugar (AZuCAR) bag. AZuCAR begins with the postal abbr. for ARIZONA and ends with CAR, perhaps linking to the theme associating buying foul grocery store food with driving a LEMON or having no CAR at all
