Learn a little more about the history of Rome's very own ancient theatre of death, the Coliseum, and it's similarities to modern day bull fighting. Interesting video from ex-Monty Python Terry Jones's BBC show 'Gladiators: The Brutal Truth'.

  • friggin' BBC. VESPASIAN first began constrution of the Colosseum! His son Titus completed it in 80 A.D. not Trajan!

  • If you look up the WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals), they're running a campaign against bullfighting, which constitutes animal cruelty. Thought that some of you might be interested since a lot of people here have written comments against bullfighting.

  • @Elieeeeboy Bullying*

  • Stop bulling the bull!

  • @GUALLACOL I understand and I'm sorry to those that have read my wrongly informed post, but that still doesn't make the bull"fighter" closer to the level of the gladiators for the bull fighter still "fights" a bull that has been wounded several times, has been exhausted, and will probably die of shock because of the wounds it has, w/o a bull fighter's knife through its head.

  • @toothpickassassin First of all not all gladiators fought to the death. That is a myth! 90% of them survived their fate. Stop watch hollywood movies and do some research and you will learned the real truth!

  • bull fighting must end

  • @redpaw550

That is probably cause you don't understand what a "bullfight" really is.

We can start with the fact it isn't a fight or a contest against the bull. it is a spectacle.

It is the flaunting of death itself.

Even the term bullfight is an incorrect translation. A corrida de torors is the Running of a Bull.

(The Running of the Bulls in Pamplona is also incorrectly translated it is El Encierro a loose translation is to lock up)

  • @grumdi1982 I can hardly call the unnecessary fighting against a 600 kilo animal brave, I prefer the word 'stupid'.

  • @grumdi1982 The bull has been exhausted before the brave bull fighter even enters the arena...
