Using a CB Radio power supply to run a 2 meter transceiver.

I created the sparks using a standard AC cord. I stripped the two wires at the end of the cord and connected only one of the strands together. I knew that it would instantly burn up, but I really didn't expect the pyrotechnic display to be that dramatic. I tested using two strands (outside, of course) and that was way too much. One strand didn't seem to be too much when I was outside. On my kitchen table though, it was quite a fiery display.

  • Read the "More Info" next to the video that explains the process behind the video.

  • what the heck is going on, in the last 20 seconds of your video, a stupid commercial pops up. did you do this or is youtube doing it.

  • The commercial was part of the joke. It's a bit out of date since that commercial hasn't run in my area since 1999.

  • The commercial was a series running at the time. All with the NO CHANCE theme, but you have a CHANCE at Ameristar. The Johnson Power Supply was meant for a 5 watt CB not a 50 Watt 2m FM! NO CHANCE..... Its a freaking JOKE! You will never make Jedi! No intuition!
