@tthhnnee you welcome - not sure about chrome in wankels , but i think its the same, nikasil is also used in 2 stroke motocross engines like honda cr250
For every one who asked what is Nikasil -Nikasil is a trademarked electrodeposited lipophilic nickel matrix silicon carbide coating for engine components, mainly piston engine cylinder liners. It was introduced by Mahle in 1967, initially developed to allow rotary engine apex seals (NSU Ro80 and Mercedes C111) to work directly against the aluminum housing. This coating allowed aluminum cylinders and pistons to work directly against each other with low wear and friction.
I don't think you'd bore a cylinder to 1 mm over. 1 mm isn't very much and could easily be honed out to size. Nicasil motors you do not bore. The Nicasil coating is very thin and 1 mm would be more than enough to cut through the plating. I'm pretty positive this cylinder has a iron sleeve liner cast into the aluminum.

@boobiehurley35~ he already bored it out, now he's honing it.
Nikasil is very hard and u have to use a "diamond hone" to scratch it.

IS he honing it or boring .it I do not believe a nikasil cylinder needs that much to break the glaze and give a cross hatch hone.
