This is Episode 2 part A.
In this lesson I will talk about how to mix a rhythm section and things to think about when you're making a mix. The song I am using is called "Breaking Away" by Max Rougier watch Episode 1 for more details about his song.

I am using Garageband 09 but the mixing tips & concepts will apply to all multi track recordings.

  • Hey I have a question. Why is it that when I send Garageband projects to Itunes why do they always sound empty and flat?If you get me?

  • @martyevans1 One thing that can cause that is the volume difference when you export out of GB and into iTunes. I do have a video on how to correct that. It's called

"Exporting from Garageband into iTunes! Get the proper VOLUME!!"

  • Hey man, im from portugal, we have a rock band, and we could use some help, do you do any kind of work or colaboration with bands?

  • @tiagoemsantos What kind of work do you need?

  • @tiagoemsantos What are you thinking about?

  • do you have two mouse pointers?

  • @stever199 No, it was a problem with my old Screen recording program.

  • Hello:) I have a question about bass in general. When I make a bass track from my MIDI, the depth of it seems to fall flat and I cant seem to get that full and enhanced sound that fills the whole song. It comes out very shallow, and if I enhance the EQ then it comes out very distorted. Is there something wrong that I am doing during the pre-mastering stage, or the recording stage? Are their certain fixed settings I can put for it to come out as enhanced as professionally mastered Hip Hop songs?

  • @stever199 it's a glitch with his screen recorder

  • I have a question, I am mixing a song in which i recorded the drums for a drums kit, however the sound is too bright, should I equalize it on a different way?

  • it sounds like a new wave song.
