www.bananalandcampaign.com In 2004 Chiquita admitted to making payments to the AUC, a ruthless group of paramilitaries in Colombia who are a terrorist group according to the US State Department. For years Chiquita said they made the payments to protect their workers. While making our film, The Affected: Banana Land, we found these claims to be false. Chiquita had a close relationship w/ the AUC and use these terrorists to murder union leaders and to displace people whose land they wanted. Dole has denied making payments to the AUC but we also have proof that refutes these false claims.
