@PATRICKEIRE now that you mention it...I'd defintiely say that every year (or almost every year) in the 1980 there was a movie with a song that became a hit on the radio
Examples:
1980: "Call Me", "I'm Alright", "Fame"
1981: "Arthur's Theme"
1982: "Somebody's Baby", "Eye of the Tiger"
1983: "Flashdance (What a Feeling)", "Maniac"
1984: "Footloose", "Let's Hear It for the Boy" "I Can Dream About You"
1985: "Power of Love" "St Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)"
1986: "Danger Zone If Anybody Had a Heart

@PATRICKEIRE could not have said it better

great song from an even greater soundtrack- the film is fairly good as well, I was eighteen in 1986 so the film provided a lot of info about relationships and such for myself and my friends and family. still have the film in my library to this day.

Watched the movie two nights ago with my wife. She cried during the scene when Rob Lowe said "I'm not happy" to Demi Moore. I think the movie really reflect the universal problem of relationships : we get tired of each other after awhile. Didn't enjoy the movie when I was a kid in the 80's but now it is one of my favorite 80's movies.
