I am so glad he is no longer my representative. He was an embarrassment. Now he can go dress in tiger outfits and sexually assault people in private. Though I am concerned that once he left office, the investigation seemed to be dropped. I have not heard anything about it since.

The Song period was great in that regard. Each dynasty had it's unique imprint. Han dynasty had also some cool tech and art, Tang era was known for cultural diversity and liberal attitudes, Later half of Zhou era was the golden age of philosophy; that was the time when Confucianism and other major philosophies just started and didn't permeate Chinese psyche yet. So, there's lots of interesting stuff in history.

a little off topic but wouldn't a resurrection of the Song dynasty be better than the Ming? I thought they were the greatest dynasty of Chinese history. Greatest tech, economy,etc... until the mongols invaded that is. Then again its kinda hard to rush a majority of Chinese history into a semester in college so i could be wrong.

oh no siree....the ancient Chinese were completely opposite from communism, they were very imperial and feudal in their ways. Ancient China was Athens+Sparta combined! China was actually way more capitalistic just before the great leap forward, they were ruthlessly capitalistic to the point that poor people slaves to their power Land Barons. Mao came in to try and change China's ways to be more communistic to stop the poverty.
