"Mini-Vac" water change. Re-directed circulating return water into receptacle which also empties upper vacuumed aquarium when water level drops below entance. Refill with hose while vacuuming. Takes less than 15 minutes from start to finish.
{footnote:} The vacuum pump squirted some oil onto a Peruvian chest of draws."her-in-doors" is very, very upset.
Any ideas on how to remove oil stains from wood without re-staining the whole thing would be appreciated.

  • Simple answer, no.A vacuum cleaner is sufficient.Just take precautions to prevent water entering the cleaner.

In fact you can suck the air out: see "oral vacuum".You are not actually sucking the water up.By evacuating the air, the water flows in to fill the vacuum.

  • does the vacuum have to be incredibly strong to lift the hundreds of pounds of water up there?
