The Peony Pavillion - Excerpt from a Chinese Opera

This is a very quick piece from a 19 hour long 16th century Chinese Opera. It's visual part of the story where we see some of the underworld spirits. This was performed live in Paris in 2000 and shot on 12 cameras. My job was to make the whole thing into 13 one hour episodes for broadcast on the BBC's Arts Channel.

I remember watching almost all of this when it was broadcast in Australia. But the version we saw here had been performed in America and ran for 15 hours. Wish it was available somewhere.
