This video was a school project to demonstrate the Reactor Physics engine in 3D studio Max. It was entirely modeled and animation by me in 3DS. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to email me at twuelfing@gmail.com

  • hay quick question - how you get it so the physics objects looks like they were coliding because when i use reactor all the objects have spacing between them like the collision box is built around the object.... its annoying

  • i believe its a setting called collision tolerance, you can find it in the reactor settings under the "hammer" tab i think.

  • thx i found that but it says tolerance is extremely low.... whats the minimum setting you can use?

  • i believe it depends on the size / scale of your world. You will just have to experiment.

  • im doing something like this at school now

Im using 3DS max and i cant seem to get an object to become transperant in the reactor preview, does the textures (and opacity) show up when u render it?

  • @iisduncan the preview wont show transparent materials,I am not away of any way to get realtime caustics.

  • How long did this take to render???

  • really cool looking n i love the sound effects.

  • I suppose this is a kinda slow motion thing. I'm sure if this is sped up that the physics will be good.

  • rube goldberg is to do a simple task, not break a glass marble!

  • why are marbles, marble tracks and dominoes always in rube goldberg machines

  • I wish you success in your studies have been nice to be appreciated
