BAVIRO is the latest SITA ReEnergy waste-to-energy plant. This new construction project was completed and fully operational in 2011. The contractor's consortium BAM - Hitachi Zosen Inova is responsible for the turn-key erection of the complete plant.
Capacity: 291.000 tons/year (wate of 580.000 households)
Waste troughput: 38 tons/hour
Energy output: 32MWe, 246.000 MWh/year (70.000 households), 51% of energy output is classified as 'green'.

28% full cycle efficiency, continuous monitoring, European air standards. This sounds like a great project. We prefer some of the newer technologies but respect the way in which this one was executed.
Would love an update to see if it is still operating at design emissions.
