::Top Gear Australia Winning Entry & Subsequent Audition Video:: This was my entry for SBS's Top Gear Australia Video Competition from March 2007 which actually won a trip to London which was great! The video subsequently became my audition video for top gear Australia and landed me as a shortlistee for a potential host of the show.

Make sure you subscribe to my videos as there are more clips coming soon!

The clip itself was shot mostly by my wife and edited by me, features my 2.6 Litre, 1975 Chrysler Galant. For more info on modifying Galants check out

Enjoy!

Cheers,

Craig Turner

  • Top Gear Aus was scrapped wasn't it?? Or was that Top Gear America... either way I'd love to see you as a host, you've got that mate down the road who knows about cars feel, very easy to relate to and someone with a real passion for cars.

  • OIII dude im from perth, where did you find that sand patch bro ???!?

  • I... LOVE this video.

I just bought myself a 1975 GC Galant... I am now very happy with no air-con, power-steering, electric-windows, etc.

This video is... great. Just great.

  • new car smell = pcbs = toxins that make you sterile..

so u dont want that at all.

  • Was that Canning Dam road?

  • My '74 GC coupe would have looked great next to yours with the same conversion; 5 speed and 2.6 from a Magna with Sigma timing case and modified water ports. Mine had solid lifters from earlier Astron. Ventilation system from a '77 Lancer Hatch and used a Bluebird radiator with Sigma condensor & a/c compressor. My battery was in the boot with fuel lines running through a Golf diesel petrol filter & Subaru '75 1600 electric fuel pump. I ran wagon rear end with 9" brakes and Sigma struts..

  • My first car was a yellowy green Galant. It was a hand-me-down from my sister and we called it The Yellow Submarine. Without doubt the best car I was ever given.

  • ... Or a petrol cap. Lol.

  • A mate of mine linked up your cat video on facebook, and it only took me a couple of seconds to recognise a Chrysler Galant, my mum had a 76 in the same colour, what a classic! the 1600 was a gutless donk aye, luckily my dad had a 76 Triumph Stag for me to learn to drive in instead... great video, brought back some great memories there! Cheers!

  • Your wife IS awesome!! Wonderful filming.
