Another D yirdaki, this time made by Djalu and his wife Dopiya. What really impresses me with this stick is its acoustic elasticity, the way the tongue is able to bend the fundamental note with accented inflections. I don't often find good "D" yirdaki, most of the ones I come across lack this characteristic.
Typical of Galpu yirdaki and especially Djalu's work, this stick has that wonderful thunderous bass response that is said by Galpu to be the voice of Wititj, the Ancestral Olive Python and progenitor of today's people.
Not much more to say really, the video tells it as it is and faithfully captures the instrument's voice.
