Blue Freedom Press humbly thanks Bill Bacon and William Bacon Productions for helping Alaska Governor Jay Hammond (1922-2005) to provide the rest of us with more intelligent options. Maybe this will help President Bush to reconsider. We'll let Jay speak for himself.
@LahTera
I read his book (Tales of Alaska's Bush Rat Governor) a few years back. I only wish he had been Sarah's political mentor, but it seems the two never crossed paths.

I wish Obama and our other leaders had utilized such a program when it was decided to bail out so many companies. People having money to spend is a great way to stimulate the economy, yes?

Did Sarah and Jay know each other. I haven't read "Going Rogue" yet but I did read "Tales of Alaska's Bush Rat Governor" and I think the two would have had a lot in common.
I still love the idea Jay semi-humorously tossed out once suggesting that the Juneau legislature's offices should be relocated to a cruise ship and moved from town to town every few months so as to keep government from growing too big and limiting the ability of lobbyists to access state reps.

I was thinking the same thing myself when the idea was being knocked about.
It would take the oil revenue, and it's corrupting effects away from the Iraqi government ("the curse of oil" "the devil's excrement", etc.")and put it directly in the hands of the Iraqi people.
$800 per annum would mean a hell of a lot to your average Iraqi and give them a major stake in their system.
