Planting trees protects against land erosion high winds, and dust in the school yard, provides shade, and keeps the school cooler. UNICEF today is helping plant millions of trees worldwide.
Empowered children are a dynamic and ultimately powerful force for protecting and improving the environment.

UNICEF uses its water and sanitation programmes around the world to educate and empower children on environmental issues related to water, sanitation and hygiene. Activities include the development of sanitation and environmental education programmes in schools and initiatives that promote the participation of children in local, national and global environmental initiatives.

Help us create a greener environment. Transforming lives through education.
