My God, she died just a few days ago. Sad, but she left this great song behind. What else can we mortals do but leave something of our lives behind so that those coming after can appreciate what we did.

So sad to hear about Betty - the bus really has departed. A real loss. I saw her at Moorabbin Town Hall about seven years ago with the Allstars. Fantastic!

I found this about 7 months ago, just browing for songs I sang as a teenager. Have since found the real Betty McQuade. Unfortunately she is in hospital after a fall and has broken various bones. Prior to this accident she had been involved in a rock n roll band north of Brisbane. I intend to visit her and have my photo taken with her. A lot of memories are associated with her song Midnight Bus. Loved it then and love it still. Amazing lady.

I enjoyed this one...big hit when I was much more optimistic than I am now!

This was a great Loudermilk song - his version is great. But this is different and a fantastic production. It goes to show what great singing and production talent was around in Australia at the time.
Did johnny chester ever do a version of this song?

Betty McQuade originally emigrated to Brisbane from Scotland, but worked in Melbourne from 1960 as vocalist for The Thunderbirds, and later
appeared on the Go!! TV show in the mid-60s.
As far as I Know this song was her only Hit.
