Aurel Schmidt is an artist from British Columbia who now lives in New York and makes these really intricate drawings of faces and bodies made up of things like rats and maggots and snakes and skull-mouths. In the first part of her interview, Aurel talks about moving to the city and channeling all her anxiety and drug-fueled paranoia into her work.
