Very boring video of an old man (me) learning to fly a ultralight helicopter, up, down, up, down, up down, over and over, but the only other way I can learn to fly helicopters is to drive a long way to an airport when I can find a helicopter and instructor and $250/hr. Much easier owning your own helicopter. But still get instruction with an instructor - I have 10 hours in a R22 and plan on getting lots more, as I can, then work on what I learned in my low cost, convenient, easy-to-fly, ultralight helicopter.

  • could you make a video showing how too fly and land... also how high can you fly

  • @Pailey04 It can fly up to 10,000 feet but it's cold and lonely up there - and you feel really small.

  • Not boring at all Larry. Very informative to see first hand. Kinda scary, almost

like I'm there flying the thing. Keep going! and keep video taping for us.

I would like to learn to fly helicopters some day. Would it be easier to learn

to fly something like the "AIR SCOOTER", which has no tail rotor?

    Thanks for sharing

  • @eaford214 I've heard that co-axial helicopters with no tail rotor are easier to fly - however this type seems to be far more popular and I'll bet there is a real good reason. I'm honored, fortunate, and humbled to stand on the shoulders of giants like Igor Sikorsky, Frank Robinson, and John Uptigrove (Innovator Technologies). Learning just some of what they know, learning to fly, and living to fly is a life long daily challenge we can only partially hope to achieve.

  • Do you measure flight time by the cord or do you have a hobbs meter? hahaha

That machine is cool. I like the high-tech landing pads too. Is there a lot of vibration through your hands? Full tank what is its flight duration?

  • @FlightLevelHeaded It has a TinyTach with hour meter. Landing pads work great! No cyclic or collective vibration. 5 gallon tank good for one hour.
