Running later than usual meant seeing this morning's 100 in full daylight and the bonus of NS 5211, an unusual high-hood GP-38-2. :)
This morning's SU-100 was near Old Prospect Rd in Sparta around 7:30am when dispatch told them they were 'taking' something (I assume a portion of the main line ahead) for 'Mr. Wilson'. I assumed that meant the 100 would stop before Sparta Junction / Limecrest Rd to allow Wilson Coal to occupy the rails locally for a time. I got to that area around 8:30 and couldn't spot the train nor any Wilson activity, and assumed the 100 must have started rolling again. I raced along Glen Rd in Sparta to get to Newfoundland and got there about 10 minutes ahead of the train. I shot it at Charlottesburg Rd, then ran to Oakland to get it crossing the bridge at Oak St.
Note in the video the times are wrong by one hour, as I failed to adjust for Daylight Standard Time, so 10am is actually 9am, etc.
Awesome catch man! You lucky SOB catching both of the NS units being trasnfered over NYS&W! Haha.
