http://www.examsolutions.co.uk In this question you are given that two circles of radii 5cm and 12cm have their centres 13cm apart. Find the area of the overlap between the two circles.
This is a good question to attempt if revising for A-level maths on areas of sectors and segments.

  • You have a cool way of drawing Fs! But on a more related note, thank you for making this video. You're a lot clearer than the others. I've got an exam tomorrow and I needed a bit of a refresher of my last topic - you've done it perfectly!

  • @OphelieLiv Good luck for tomorrow

  • I have no idea why... but coincidentally, I was up late last night trying to figure this exact problem out in my head o_O now there is a video of it lol

  • @therealjordiano I hope you found it useful?

  • @ExamSolutions hehe of course :)

  • @ArifMRaquib Of course you can use that method but I prefer to teach more from the understanding point of view in case people forget formulas and methods. Also note your formula will break down if you are using degrees.

  • @SupaLemons Thanks. Hope all goes well tomorrow.

  • No probs - I am pleased to hear that it helped

  • Thank you
