My ancestors used to sacrifice each other and toss the bodies in a peat bog. It felt right at the time. We do not feel obliged to defend those sacrifices in the modern world.

The problem for modern Moslems is that they DO have to defend their inerrant prophet's actions as being right, while being personally repulsed by them. If he was perfect in his actions and his book inerrant, revealed by an eternal god, his actions and his book must remain perfect and inerrant for all time.
