SPOILERS !!!

Dead Heat is a police / buddy comedy / horror movie that was directed by Mark Goldblatt and released in 1987 or 88.

Two cops try to figure out how two guys who have already been declared deceased and have had autopsies can get up and rob a jewelry store. One dies in the process and gets reanimated, giving him an extra 12 hours to "live" before he turns in to a messy puddle of human waste.

The cops are played by Treat Williams and Joe Piscopo. Piscopo is gold as the comedic relief here. He has some very timeless one liners. For as ridiculous a plot, all the performances are all pretty good.

The special effects are also very well done. We get see gunfights, a whole butcher shop come to life, a lady melt, some cool zombie make up, car crashes, the works. the gunfights are especially well done and over the top.

All in all, this was a very very fun movie. Had lots of laughs and action. Fairly original storyline. I really liked it. Vincent price also pulls a cameo

  • Dude, I've been wanting to see this for the longest time! Everything about this just seems amazing.

  • Yeah, I thought it was a pretty awesome flick. Lots of point blank zombie gun fights with automatic guns. Everything was so over the top. I loved it.

  • Sounds frickin' awesome.

  • That it was.

  • No offense, but this movie was horrible. The jokes were corny (and 80% puns), the "zombies" were completely ridiculous (they can't be killed with a gun, but they CAN be killed with a giant pole piercing through them?) and the plot was... weird. The meat shop/butcher scene was especially hard to watch, especially the part with the bull. Overall, a terrible movie!

  • I finally bought the DVD of this movie for only $2 and it was worth it.

  • haha dude this looks great i gotta check this out. great review!
