@MrFlashwall make a vid of you giving dexterity exercizes, show us a "solid foundation' , give him some tips , dont say "4 months?" in a sarcy way ..be positive and helpful. your older and wiser , try be a mentor... suggest some fingering routines , or a good book.
I wanna see u play :P

4 months? you should invest time into some dexterity excercises. too many muted notes

your hand is in wrong position. I know at first that feels very logical, but really you should have your palm pointing down, not like sideways. And the thumb should go away from the other fingers when you play with it :) i know it's hard to get used to at start but it's better when you get it.
