Remember Anne in a dark shed, barely able to move? Well look at her now... This video will melt your heart!
Thanks to Jon Cracknell / Longleat for the footage. And thanks to all the groups involved in Anne's move.

  • I wish she had a larger area. Look at all the grassy areas out of reach. And she desperately needs a water feature, like they have at PAWS ans TES. Yes, this of course is a great improvement, but I would prefer to see her in a true Sanctuary, where she is not chained and have the bullhook on her, as Longleat does.

  • @Ulysses61 We certainly understand your concerns. Unfortunately there are no elephant sanctuaries in Europe at the moment. So while BFF oppose elephants being kept in captivity, due to the unique nature of Anne's situation, in this case, it is such a vast improvement (there is a pool). Just look at how happy she is compared to before. This is hopefully temporary, and we will also be requesting that Anne is not put on public display, we want this old lady to live her life out in peace and quiet.

  • This is wonderful to see. Its not so easy for us in Scotland to visit Longleat so it's really great to see Anne in your Youtube video, she looks so happy. Follow us on our Facebook campaign 'Save Scotland's seals from being killed'

  • Thanks for rescuing Anne Longleat it is clear to see that she is now full of the joys of life and getting stronger and stronger by the day now she is out of those bloody chains!!! Oh yes bit by bit her broken spirit is gradually being rebuilt.

  • @Ulysses61 have you been to longleat? They have quite a big are, the grassy areas are for other animals that can safely be let into areas where the cars drive through :) i have been since they got anne and she is loving it there! Made me tear up lol, there is also more than just this part, there is an indoor bit and another larger outdoor area with the other elephants they have

  • So cute, I just wanna give her a big bear hug and play with her. =p

  • @Ulysses61 There is no pool for Anne to this day.

  • Thank you for rescuring Anne from her abuser. She's 58. She should have many years ahead of her to enjoy the freedom. Please don't let her down - let her have a peaceful life till the end. Thanks!

  • She seems much happier!!!
