Much false information has come out over the past 8 years about the Florida Recount -- here is some true information from the people who were there. Judge Terry Lewis & Election Supervisor Ion Sancho were put in charge of the statewide recount which SCOTUS shut down. These interviews are from the filming of WHO COUNTS? ELECTION REFORM IN AMERICA

  • This is fun. Watching all these people trying to justfy why Gore lost over 10 years ago. See, liberals believe that if they get enough people to believe in their beliefs, then they must be right. So losing it means their WRONG! And liberal can never be wrong. Jesus said, you reap what you sow. Meaning, I wil not tell you. I'll let the liberal courts interpit it for you.

  • @GregWn Ever observer was there to watch. It was ran by DEMOCRATED commissioners. The butterfly ballot was made by a DEMOCRATE. The OK to use butterfly ballots where OK'd to be used by DEMOCRATES. THe CHANGE of Method, OH, now I know what you mean. They were told to FOLLOW THE RULES THAT THE DEMOCRATES MADE BEFOR THE ELECTION. YOU LOST, YOU LOST, YOU LOST. NOW, OBAMA, YOU LOST, YOU LOST. YOU LOST.

  • @GregWn Fact, Democrates did the recount, DEM O CRATES commission ran the recount. They handed theri results to Kathrny Harris. DEM O CRATES commissoners gave Kathryn Harris THEIR COUNTS. All she could due was cretify them. AND SHE DID! If she was a DEMOCRATE the election would of never been certifited it GORE WON! FACT, FACT, FACT.

  • You say the Bush Supreme court. You mean Bush appointed them into power before the election? As for the Florida Supreme courts ruling on voters intent. Since an overvote is an illeagal vote and the voters that voted for Gore knew this. This vote is a anit-Gore vote. And since anyone can say the intent of someone was this or that. Then the intent of the over and undervotes for Gore where negative Gore votes. Funny that no one disputes the LEAGAL votes being recounted, just the ILLEAGAL VOTES.

  • @tock101 The Florida State Supreme Court was between a rock and a hard place with the Bush US Supreme Court. If the Florida Supreme Court had set a standard, the US Supreme Court would disallowed based on the Florida Supreme Court "making law", although state courts traditionally have the right to interpret laws. If they didn't set a standard, then they risked equal protection violations charges. They chose the latter as know federal court has ever intervened in such a manner in history.

  • @tock101 Yes, the Butterfly ballot was designed by a Democrat. That doesn't make it right. Is there a remedy? No. It still cost Gore th election.

  • @tock101 In fact, a total of 18 counties—accounting for a quarter of all votes cast in Florida—did not carry out the legally mandated machine recount under the influence of Kathryn Harris. Another fact.

  • @tock101 I'm beginning to think I shouldn't even respond because you are so ignorant to the facts. Every recount had a Democratic and Republican observer. It’s not true that when they didn't get the results they wanted they changed the way they counted votes; in fact, it is the reverse because Kathryn Harris used her "neutral” representative into changing the method of vote counting in favor of Bush. That alone swung the election to Bush. Those are facts. All the votes were never counted once.

  • @tock101 They quit counting in Miami Dade because the Republicans financed an illegal mob to storm the facility they were doing the count. And Kathryn Harris didn't let Palm Beach continue its recount although she had the discretion of letting them count until her office opened on Monday morning. Regardless, the county kept counting. Harris refused to accept it. Get you facts straight.

  • @tock101 . Are you serious? First, no such definition ever existed. Secondly, Bush got us into the war in Iraq under false pretenses that contributed to the spiraling deficit. Thirdly, the lack of regulation over Wall Street was the biggest problem; but that failure was shared by Democrats and Republicans alike. That being said, Obama failed in waiting so long for us to get out of Iraq, and he is failing by continuing the war in Afghanistan. So, in reality, the problem is caused by both parties.

  • @tock101 Secondly, the US Supreme Court erred in ruling that no time existed for a state wide recount. The Safe Harbor deadline of December 12 was not written in stone; the US Supreme Court should have remanded the case back to the Florida State Supreme Court for clarification on that matter. The Florida State Supreme Court would have likely extended that date to the date the electors voted, December 18.

  • @tock101 The law is the intent of the voter. It is written into Florida law. Check it out. The Florida State Supreme Court erred in not developing a uniform standard for determining that intent according to the US Supreme Court. In addition, the justices, rightly, had a problem that the Florida State Supreme Court did not include overvotes. Under the count of all votes ruling of the US Supreme Court Gore would have won; however, due to delays by Republican operatives and Harris the clock ran out

  • @tock101 That is absurd. Hardly desrves a response. The justices of both the Florida State Supreme court and the US Supreme Court, State precedents, and the Florida law say you are wrong. And you have the gall to say case closed? Yeh, case closed that your arguments lack any semblance of intelligence.

  • @tock101 Where are you getting your information? Pulling it out of thin air? You cannot provide a legitimate reference to that statement because it is false.

  • @GregWn BEFORE the vote was taken. THE DEMOCRATES set up the rules on how votes should be counted. THE DEMOCRATES said in the rules. NO OVERVOTES OR UNDERVOTES WERE TO BE COUNTED. When they did the recount and saw they were going to LOSE, THEY WANTED TO CHANGE THE RULES ON HOW TO COUNT VOTES. I don't know what school you went to , but we called this CHEATING. I guess that is the only way GORE COULD WIN BY CHEATING.

  • OK, Overvotes. This is when someone punches a hole in the card. Then writes a persons name in the place for write in candidates. RIGHT? So, If you do not see the candidate listed on the ballot, you then can write them in. RIGHT? So, the written name is of a PERSON THATI IS NOT ON THE BALLOT. I know a man who's name is Al Gore and his is not the former VP. When people wrote Al Gore down they were voting for THIS AL GORE and not the VP. SO, all overvotes should go to this other GORE. CASE CLOSED.

  • @tock101 Actually undervotes and overvotes were counted for both Bush and Gore in those counties that did manual recounts. The revised figures were the resultant figure of the number of overvotes and undervotes for Gore minus the overvotes and undervotes for Bush. And that is what the media reported.

  • @silcominc When the Forida Supreme Ct made it first rulling. The US Supreme CT made a ruling and asked the Forida Supreme CT to show how they came up with their rule BY LAW. Still today, that Forida Supreme CT has not answered the US Spremes CT request. All the Florida CT did was just make another ruling.

  • To count any vote that was deamed an illeagal vote before the ballot took place is BREAKING THE RULES! If there were more overvotes for Bush, THE DEMOCRATES WOULD BE PONDING THERE FIST ON THE TABLE DEMANDING THOSE VOTES DO NOT COUNT! Of course we will never hear about Bushes overvotes. But 4 years later. WAM BAM! B U S H W I N S! PROOF POSITIVE, THE PEOPLE WON! Now we have OBAMA. 9% unemployment, trillions in dept. Tax dollars going to the rich. need I say more.

  • @GregWn Didn't you read the liberal papers. They said the ONLY counted GORES over and under votes, NOT BUSHES! Why did they do this, BECAUSE ASSWHOLES, THEY SELL PAPERS. PAPERS THAT SELL MAKE MONEY. There were two printings each made. One said Bush won the other said Core won. Research said the story on Gore winnng would sell MORE PAPERS! I was told arguing with idiots was a waste of time.

  • @GregWn That is total BULLSHIT. I saw the Democrates in one country refuse to continue recounting before it was certified. IT WAS ALL OVER THE NEWS HOW THEY QUIT COUNTING. They had over 8 hours to keep counting but quit. There quiting to recount said it all BUSH WON!

  • @GregWn Dude!!! Thees whole system was under the control of the DEMOCRATES. Every borad that did the recount was done by DEMOCRATES in control. When they did not get the resluts that wanted they changed the way they counted VOTES. It was a DEMOCRATE that made the butterfly ballot. It worked OK in aonther state but not in Florida? When you cheat at something and lose, recount, recount, recount.

  • The key is not what Al Gore wanted. It was what the Florida Supreme Ct. ruled. They said in their decision that the intent of the voter was paramount and therefore, the 150,000 overvotes, 90% of which were for Al Gore would have to be counted. This is why the SCOTUS intervened as quick and as unprecedented as it did to stop the recount. They knew that if the recount was allowed to continue, Al Gore would become president

  • Wrong. USA Today

    Newspapers' recount shows Bush prevailed

    By Dennis Cauchon, USA TODAY

Click to see an interactive analysis of Florida's undervotes.

George W. Bush would have won a hand count of Florida's disputed ballots if the standard advocated by Al Gore had been used, the first full study of the ballots reveals. Bush would have won by 1,665 votes

  • @TELEVISIONARCHIVES Get over it? Why the hell are you talking about it then? The National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago, sponsored by a consortium of major U.S. news organizations, conducted a comprehensive review of all ballots uncounted (by machine) in the Florida 2000 presidential election. A review of all ballots showed that Gore won. Now you get over it.
