We are petitioning against the 12.5 meter high mobile phone mast that is planned for the corner of Clockhouse Lane and Warren Lane in Chafford Hundred.

It is a health hazard because it will take up about a third of the pavement on a blind bend. And is not necessary as there is already a mast only 60 meters away!!

  • *These are my personal views, and may/may not represent the views of those running the campaign*

People are saying that I am a hypocrite for wanting the technology but not wanting the mast. However, I am not saying I do not want ANY masts, just the placement of these mast is wrong. The positioning of a mast should not cause danger to the public, should not ruin someone's view from their house and should not damage the aesthetics of the surroundings.

  • Large mobile companies, despite what they say, care nothing for customers (residents are potential customers) and the only way to hurt them is to start a campaign to boycott their services. Convince your friends NOT to sign up for O2 services, banners and demonstrations outside their phone shops is also another way of bringing this to the public's attention. The new government talks of more local democracy so your MP should raise this in the House and get them to convince us they mean it.

  • Good video. I read about this in the Gazette. That's a ridiculous plan, good luck with your fight.
