  • I've been on this train & we went up to Squamish.

  • I wish you enjoyed the trip.

  • that stupid and nuts a woman standing on the front of the locomotive while its moving

  • On hand to give the signal for the locomotive to steam into the station, she was the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, the Honourable Iona Campagnolo. She represent the queen in Canada.

  • what a beautiful futuristic looking train.

  • This train used to run excursion day-trips several days a week in summer between Vancouver & Squamish.

I rode it to Squamish one day with my ex-girlfriend, whose Dad was one of the last BC Rail engineers with a steam ticket from the days of working steam. He had driven this engine.

In Squamish, we met the engineer, who knew my gf and her Dad. He invited us to ride back to Vancouver with him in the cab of the Royal Hudson. It was great fun to watch him run the engine. Hot in the cab, though!

  • @DeltaPhi79 it is.............unique. Although I would have to say the 2816 is better looking.

  • who said your the only ones that wanted to see it?

  • @DeltaPhi79 meh the yanks have 2 royal hudson class locos. ones in california 2830 not sure where the other is.

  • Yes, it was special! We had lunch in the dining car & it was decorated really nice, then we went to the back of the train & stood in the caboose & went through a tunnel, loved it!!!

  • Now I have to honestly say. This beats the look of Daylight 4449, The Challenger, and the 844. Suck it up UP/SP fans. (IDC if you think someone in the USA should like only the steam locos in their own country!)

  • 2860 is my favorite canadian steam engine
