(This demo is similar to the one from earlier except that I will go a little slow
here for the benefit of those who are new to Business Objects.)

Create a Universe on a MS Access Data base using SAP Business Objects 4.0 Information Design Tool

- Create an ODBC connection to a MS Access database.
- Create a project within IDT.
- Create a connection to the Database.
- Create a Data Foundation.
- Create a Business Layer.
- Publish the Business Layer Locally.
- Create a report using Web Intelligence.
- Publish the connection.
- Change connection in the Data Foundation
- Publish the universe to the repository.

  • Hi! we made this locally and it work perfectly.

    now we moved the database to the actual server it is going to be, but we don't know exactly how to create the odbc connection if the database is in a remote server. any hints?

    When you create the ODBC and specify the server name give it the name of the remote server.
