    Without a doubt Vienna was on the point of falling to the Ottomans when Jan III Sobieski (the king of Poland) organised & led a huge cavalry charge (the biggest ever in recorded history) definitely saving the city against terrible odds.

    Brave though he was it's inconceivable Count Ernst Rüdiger von Starhemberg (defending Vienna) could have survived much longer, dreadfully outnumbered & starving, without Sobieski's counter attack.

  • As for "the feelings of the peaceful beleivers of Islam" there might well be peaceful people who consider themselves to be Muslims but (unlike Christianity) Islam itself demands constant warfare "in all of its forms" (Quran 9:5). Killing & being killed in the name of Allah (Quran 9:112) is at the very core of this ideology. "Peaceful" verses (suras) are abrogated.

    I used to hope this wasn't the case but years of thought, study & observation show, sadly, that it most certainly is.

  • And as I had said in my previous statement, the "move westwards" was more a political one than a move planed by Islam - this theme is actually very badly used by people whose interest seems to be to harm the feelings of the peaceful beleivers of Islam, as their are in todays world peaceful beleivers in christianism - that was not always the case, hundreds of peaceloving nations with millions of peaceloving inhabitants have been exterminated in the name of Christ - and nobody talks about...
