I love chessies. You got a good dog there. My Chessie just passed away a few months ago. They can be stubborn as hell at times but they're very good retrievers and they're excellent guard dogs. My Chessie was very protective of my 2 year old son. They're extremely quick and alert for dogs their size and they have an abnormally strong bite for their class. Chessies can exert up to 1,600lbs of bit pressure per square inch, whereas your typical lab can exert maybe 1,300lbs of pressure.
