Andrew Copson was the first speaker at the rally at the Protest the Pope march. This clip misses his first few words, in which he noted the Pope's criticism of British values.

The huge march filled Whitehall from end to end.

  • Nice one...Copson is right on the nose.

  • I hope the Pope comes the Eastern U.S. soon, just so I can lend my support to a protest like this. Though I am an atheist, I'm not anti-religious by nature. I don't care what people believe. But when the Pope, the leader of a church which has systematically allowed the abuse of children for decades (probably centuries), makes public statements about how secularism leads to immorality, I am personally insulted and feel obliged to reply with a big "FU."

  • What an gnorant arsehole Copson is! No wonder he and Dawkins wimped out of debating a proper Christian academic like William Lane Craig!! He would have got shredded worse than Craig shredded Chris Hitchens!

The Pope did not cover up child abuse, that was never proved, and he opposes the slaughter of unborn children, not the "rights of women" he opposes condoms because they INCREASE AIDS, by increasing sexual promiscuity, Uganda, a Christian nation, abolished condoms and REDUCED AIDS!

  • @revelwoodie

Good grief, what's wrong with you neo-atheists? The Pope hasn't "systematically allowed for the abuse of children for decades". Talk about delusional. Indeed, he has been one of the strongest fighters against such abusive behaviour. How about you stop relying on the blatantly anti-Catholic media for your information, think for yourself and do your own research. Heck, you'd do well to actually read Pope Benedict's own thoughts on the issue.

  • @revelwoodie Exactly! Although I feel that a rational "push back" against nonsense is worthwhile.

  • @revelwoodie I agree. At first, I couldn't care less about the Pope. Then he opened his mouth, and the media grovelled at this feet, and the British establishment kowtowed to him and kept quiet when (while we were supposed to be commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, when this country seriously faced invasion by the Nazis) this creep likened decent, rational, liberal secularism to Hitlerism. Then my blood began to boil. It hasn't cooled down yet.

  • Excellent! Was this on the BBC or Sky?

  • Very well put! :)

  • Brilliant,, I wish I was there.

  • Nice.
