My replacement console fails after a month and a half. More RRoD XBOX 360 woes...

As of 9/18/2011, my XBOX 360 failed yet again and this time it's no longer under warranty. Thanks to the RRoD fix (the one using M5 screws), it's now up and running.

Oh, and PS3 fanboys...please stop telling me that everything will be solved by getting a PS3. I have one. More of the games I want to play are on XBOX, so end of story. The whole "solution" you have was tired 5 years ago. It's practically ancient now.

  • will a intercoller just prevent this from happening

  • From what I've heard, not really. The Intercooler really doesn't create enough airflow to alleviate the issue.

  • hey i know how u feel this just happened to me yesterday spent 2 hours on the phone with microsoft doing all kinds of trouble shooting now i have to wait at least a month to get a new one which sucks did they replace the 2nd one for you or did they charge u for it???

  • They replaced it, free of charge. Basically whenever you receive a replacement unit, that one is also warranted by the same three year limited warranty from the RRoD problem.

  • Why call Microsoft again? Time after time after time! It's rediulous! Just get a PS3 already!

  • @viciousdave119 While I agree that it's ridiculous, just buying a PS3 hardly solves the issue. You see, I've had a 60GB PS3 all this time, and I still want the XBOX. The PS3 just doesn't have the games I want to play, end of story. It gets more use as a Bluray player than it does a gaming console. Sad, and I really wish that wasn't the case, but that's how it is.

  • LOL I fixed my rrod by kicking my 360 I don't know what happend but it worked.. has that happend to anyone else yet and if it did please comment back to me

  • intercoller blocks the both cooling systems.

the xbox ones are taking air out of the console, and teh intercooler is taking the air in the console and there are blocking each other. And you shoulnd have anything additinalal that takes over the power plug because it takes energy of the console and console does not have enough energy so don't buy an intercooler. hope this helps. I know its a late anwser but anything is better than nothing

  • Microsoft screwed us all :(

  • iterestingly the fella I spoke to told me I only had a 3 month warranty for my replacement for everything BUT the 3 red lights of death... my replacement dont play xbox games now & I hauch a nightmare getting it back & getting a replacemtn HDD that they stole (yes this was back in the day when they didnt tell you to take it aparet before posting) & to top it all the theif hacked into it & got my credit card number... never again...

  • looks like its a ps3 for me........

  • yea it happened to me to i actually have 3 360's b/c of "RRoD" but Microsoft fixed them for free (360 elite i think have a smaller crash rate)
