Headlight Relay kit to improve headlight brightness when installed on Fiat Spider and Alfa Romeo sports cars. This kit was announced in mid-2010 and made available late December 2010. Mine was delivered early in January 2011.
When re-installing the non-original windshield washer tank, I must have disconnected a lead to the dash High Beam indicator light. Other than that, everything about the lights work fine. Will work on that problem when I get the car back from front-end alignment check and upper door hinge repair being done during this snowy week.
The weather broke up here enough that I finally completed the kit installation, using low cost Wagner Halogens. It definitely fixes the "dim-headlights-at -idle" problem typical of these Fiats, and the. Halogens are much brighter.
One problem: In order to pass the disassembled connectors through the headlight buckets, I found I needed to drill about 1/32" larger holes than the 7/16" called for in the IAP instructions. But the rubber grommets provided still fit just fine.
Yes, The headlights are at least 3 times as bright, and do not fade at lower engine speeds. While installing this kit is a good time to make sure your front side marker lights work and replace any burned out bulbs.
IAP has parts for Italian cars only. I would suggest you Google "Volkswagon restorers", blogs etc.
