Great video. I love the clouds moving over the bay.

I'd love to see this done during the summer, when it's out over the water. Do you take requests?

how do u make a time lapse?
-
Great choice in music, too. Where did you shoot that from? I'm guessing Pali Ke Kua? That's where I always stay. Maybe Pu'u Poa? I can't wait to get back. The stress just rolls off of me when I watch and listen to this video. Mahalo, and Aloha.

Of course the easy way is to use a camera that records video and use its built-in timelapse mode.
Good luck, I've enjoyed doing timelapse.

The description covers most of it. The other big tips are "Use a tripod" ;-) (I think I tied the camera to the balcony railing) and if you're serious about shooting for more than 2-3 hours buy the Canon external power supply. Also: focus manually and turn off auto-focus. And either get a long cable to your camera or buy some USB extension cables (they work fine).
Ahh, my spot! I'll be back August 11th, 2010. 285 days and counting. And please, no vog this time, ok?

Excellent, glad you're headed back, KG. By the way, I don't think I answered your earlier question: this was shot from the Princeville Hotel.

Too bad you ruined it by starting the credits too soon.

Ruined, really? But I'll take it as compliment that you watched to the end. The credit roll starts about 4-5 still frames before the end and just reaches the horizon on the last frame. I did it this way so that the motion of the credit roll provides a sense of continuity. Otherwise the freeze of the last frame is too abrupt.
