  • Please pardon my insipidness, but is this related to GunHed/Blazing Lazers? Because the similarity between the two is uncanny... it's like the similarities between Daioh and Shienryu.

Still, REALLY cool shmup, even better music!

  • Some ppl do class gunhed game as part of the "soldier games"

Gunhed and "soldier" games are all published by Hudson Soft so.....

  • piff.. button pressing @ 16 x per second.

  • This music rocks. I'd say it is the 2nd or 3rd best in the series. Oh, look at the pretty grass, and nice power plant foundation. Ha, ha, cute dance you did with the multi ships there.

  • this series had amazing music

  • Nice run!

  • search for SUPERSTAR SOLDIER MP4

  • @clownjeans Actually, on the Wii Shop channel it's classified as a "Soldier" game in the description.

  • On the whole historical prespective, you have went back to the primary 16-bit systems :). I'm a bit uncertain about its color output, but since 16 squared is 256 (to represent that word length, or bit amount, consists of combinations of 1's and 0's), I can see that being the more possible value. I did much of the learning about the TurboGrafx-16 in 2007, and from that I've grown to appreciate the system.

  • Heh. Well, it's nice to see you again, too :P. People have been returning to the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis as well, but I haven't heard of anyone who exclusively is going back to playing the TurboGrafx-16. Also, it has a couple of 16-bit GPUs (one for color output, and the other for objects), giving its graphics a high-clarity look. Ghouls N Ghosts was for the short-lived SuperGrafx, a true 16-bit NEC console released only in Japan that had about six games released for it.
