Tyr (Old Norse: Týr [ty:r]) is the god of single combat, victory and heroic glory in Norse mythology, portrayed as a one-handed man (bit off before by Fenrir, an evil canine being).
In the movie "The Runestone" , 1990, Tyr has some resemblance with Thor, another Norse god and his brother, who owns axe (more often it's a hammer) Mjöllnir, his main weapon to fight forces of evil. Here he fights Fenrir, who escaped from the found runestone and if not stopped, will destroy the world and bring Ragnarök.

Godunov's movie parts were all very interesting, various, professionally performed and somehow he managed to avoid being type-casted. He did drama, comedy, action, fantasy, parody, he was in mainstream and independent movies. He was a superb character actor.

    Thank you for you interest.

  • The Nordic mythology is very interesting.

  • they just wanted this movie to be released :-)

  • One of those B movies that, given a budget and some halfway disciplined writing, could have been something.

Then again, we'd still be left with the question of why the Vikings didn't just heave the damned stone over the side of the longboat and save themselves the rest of the trip.
