  • @MrKenzie2468 You have to factor into the equation the physical strength of each person. I myself can put alot of force into a swing and a cross guard would then be more effective, allowing the dual wakizashi to quickly counter attack at a closer range (as he has two weapons and can now push the offensive).

  • the stance is wrong vs wakizashi, the katana is longer, use the advantage to attack the neck or chest by stabbing, not swing from over the head, if you strike and stabg he wouldn't be able to get so close all the time, if ur stance is with the katana over the head and the distance between you is small he can basicly make sushi out of you before u get the chance to swing .... also if u try to stab and he avoids it would be much easyer to swing it to left or right.

  • Caili should wait for an opening. When jack steps in, because he's using the jodan no kamae, he'll always be striking down, at this point, caili side steps, and does a left to right double parry, starting with the left blade, then runs from parry to strike, hitting jack's ribcage with his left wakizashi, and jack's neck with his right wakizashi.

  • hmm swords are mostly a defensive weapon, so if the katana is using a high guard using a vertical strike, with dual wakizashi you could move in to the side, once the katana has a committed attack, parry with one wakizashi, strike with the other, thats the advantage with the wakizashi, the katanas advantage is its range so use it, if the wakizashi moves in, katana moves in with a thrust or a diagonal cut.

  • What style teaches dual wakizashi? I don't see it very often, but it's the style I'm most interested in.

  • i use two wakizashi. but this guy is taking too much of a straightforward strategy in my opinion. i let my opponent attack and simply move out of the way.

  • the wakizashi one is much skilled than the katana user

  • Two-short sword guy should move around more. What I mean here is that, of course, the katana does have more range, and will land a blow first. Thus, two-sword guy should move around more, feint attacks in but staying out of range. What he wants to do is to get the katana guy to swing when he shouldn't. Once that's done, good chances are that he's going to be in a wrong position, and then being at a very great disadv. when two-sword guy is going to be close on him.

  • I'm confused. I know the difference between wakizashi and kodachi is somewhat in size, since a kodachi(short sword for those who don't know) is slightly longer. But when fighting with two shorter blades the style is that of kodachi which are often paired for their lighter weight and better speed. So why don't you use kodachi instead? The differance in length could be beneficial. It disturbs me that the way of the kodachi has been transfered to "wakizashi". They are meant to complete a diasho.
