  • I'm doing a project similar to this right now and your video helped a lot. I think you did very well.

  • The termination of the session was assumed that the client, "was going to make it." In a school counseling session (I'm a school counselor), you want to leave the, "door," open in case not all the deeper feelings are expressed since this appears to be an introductory session. Many students will carry on as if everything was okay initially. Trust/rapport may not have been established. Drop a termination line such as, "my door is open if you feel like telling me something new or have updates."

  • foxynerd had a good comment ... which one is meant to be the counselor as they both seem to be chatting alot..

  • Can I just point out that if this ithe Egan model, which is what it sounds like, you're not supposed to ask questions :) sorry haha.

  • For one, you are sitting way to close to the client...

  • fantastic counselling

  • 1- Some people do not like to shake hands due to there beliefs and can even be an insult to some. So it's best not to offer your hand unless they offer it first.

2- Body language is mostly fine but your legs are crossed and your rubbing your hand which can be sign that your feeling nervous but since I'm guessing this is for an up-coming test it's fine.

Your paraphrasing and use of words is great though.

  • Absolutely awesome, I'm training as a psychotherapist and this really helped me alot

  • @foxynerd13 Not if I get to it first. Ill Cleavland Steamer that biatch.

  • you are hot i would tap that

  • I don't have much doubt that you will be a good addition to our ranks as a counselor. Work on your theoretical approaches. I work in NYC, and the kids always want results. Remember, we are not in the business of advice giving or providing immediate answers. We are the opportunity to allow them to find their own answers thru exploration of themselves.I enjoy Short Term Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.Kids can relate to both.Do not foster dependency. We are not surrogate parents.
