0:24 The original terminating point of the London United trams. They wanted to lay track to Datchet but the local Parish council refused to go half on constructing two new bridges just up the road. Those bridges still exist and carry modern traffic. The tram eventually terminated further back in Hounslow at The Bell pub. Trolleybuses replace trams in 1935. Trolleybuses disappeared in 1962.
At 1:25 WH Smith was a Waitrose supermarket. I worked there in 1975-77. It was the site of the Town Hall.

Enjoyed looking at the Historic shots of Hounslow. My Grandfather had a radio shop at 40 High Street Hounslow in early 30s called called Thames Valley Radio Services. There was a burglary & we believe he caught a chest infection by being out on a cold / wet night in pursuit of the robbers. He died of consumption in Sept 1932. At 25secs the Hussar pub was the terminating point for the 120 bus. I used it to get from Heston to see my Nan who lived in Corporation Ave. As kids in the 60s we would sit on the bus watching some of the crews have a couple of pints in the pub before starting out for the other terminus The Red Lion pub in Greenford...This was a popular route with some crews.
I used to drink in Hounslow in the 70s. It is sad to see how the place has gone down hill over the years.
