The Dutch organist, harpsichordist and musicologist Gerard van Reenen plays this nice sonata on the small historical organ, built by G.W. Lohman (1841) at Onderdendam (Holland). We may expect that Scarlatti himself and his pupil Queen Maria Barbara of Spain played often on the organs in de royal chapels and on the small pipeorgans in the palaces. So, playing Scarlatti's sonatas on the organ is a good alternative. This sonata is an excerpt from his DVD with 15 sonatas played on the organ. Video recording and montage: Wim Bender, sound and mix: Arnold Vos-van Dijk. For orders: see his website www.gerardvanreenen.nl
Now this is how the countryside should be represented. Listen to every little bird and the mighty brooks running ever onward to the sea! We are surrounded in this natural beauty, and it is unending joy! Thank you!
