Ralph Lowenstein plugs the upcoming pre-season Giants/Patriots match-up, which must have been shortly before Ch. 11 adopted its "11 Alive" branding and logo.

  • I have been a Giants fan since 1967.

The '70s (except '70 and '72 were bad years.

Still, the NFL gave me some great memories during that time.

  • @retroguy1976 ,

Yup!He was involved with the Miricle at the Meadowlands back in 1978.I remember that disaster.

  • In 1976 Giants football was not electrifying it was depressing.LOL!

  • I love it. Giants promo and right back into an episode of "The Honeymooners".

  • @retroguy1976 Yep, after his ill-advised decision to leave the Dolphins for the World Football League. I believe he was the guy Pisarcik was trying to get the ball to in the infamous "fumble."

  • they played like a billion preseason games back then

SIX exhibition games and fourteen regular season games

  • Buffalo/Niagara's own Don Criqui as the lead announcer... before moving on to the big time... including his announcing, with Bob Trumpy, of the 9-6 overtime Bills win against the Jets before Thanksgiving 88.

Of course, that was when the Bills were decent and the Jets were usually in the tank.

  • @AdamBlake1991 and a terrible Giants team. Back then, the Jints were awful.

  • First season for the Giants at the brand new Giants Stadium that year.

  • @richmjr67 Guess they had to try and hype up the team somehow lol. Those were truly the dark ages for the Giants. They went 18 years without appearing in the playoffs between 1963 and 1981.
