  • you must be getting a lot of wet loads! for the use of tray liners is no longer acceptable practice. the other 3 things i note that also need consideration are that your staff working in decon,..WHERE'S THE PPE???? and the concept of loading instrument sets into metal bowls is the PERFECT argur for wet loads as there is inadequate ability for steam to suitably reach all instrument surfaces, thus the steam is trapped and well, wadda ya know..WET LOADS! Oh and tape around insts is BANNED!

  • @cousiwa09 I certainly welcome corrections, but you need to provide references to support your claims (AAMI, AORN, etc.) None of these orgs ban tape on instr. or tray liners or instruments in bowls (which are loaded on an angle per AAMI). Also, the only shot that was in decon was toward the 3:34, and this tech had on PPE.

  • What are those trays being wrapped in before the instruments are laid on them? Paper? Why wouldn't you lay a huck towel or non-linting towel down vertically and then the tray and then another towel...put the instruments on and what not...and then fold the lower flap of the towel up and over insts and then the uppper flap down over that and then repeat and then wrap it in a blue wrap?! It would soooooo cut down on the amount of waste...because your hospital already has a linen service anyway....

  • @MsCorndogs The white things are tray liners produced by Kimberly Clark which have been validated for use in trays or as tray liners. They end up being cheaper to purchase than to buy, launder and de-lint towels.

  • I don't see anybody wearing gloves.

  • I'm new to the CSPD world. Just started working for a company called Case Medical. I came across your video while trying to learn the end users process. Are wraps (like you have shown) still more popular than rigid cases? And which way do you see the trend going in the future?

  • @elise969 I can't remember my original comment and I don't see it here. You are probably right I din't mean to offend you. I work with some very horrible women in a small windowless building sterilizing all day which has not done wonders for my good temper. You give some good advice, much appreciated. God Bless you too.

  • @xDiscipleOfTheWatchx please don't say things like that disciple i am 47 years old and i am not old and i don't gossip you sound like your very mean spirited, i have worked in this field for 20 years and i am competent and not a danger to people around me you sound like you have been hurt by these mean spirited women.where i work we do not peel pack light handles we wrap them. bye and GodBless try praying for these women and yourself.

  • @egycan271 i wish i made 22 dollars and hour !!!!!

  • does anyone know about this job? can someone tell me the pros and cons of this job and is it a good job? or does it habe physical and mental impact on health? thanks in advance :)

  • My sentiments exactly!! NO GLOVES?

  • Maybe the packs are to tight one to the other, this can cause wet packs.!, do you re-sterilize the packs?!?! Being a manager of / and an instructor in sterile processing this should be looked into regarding the packs ie: towel packs, trays peel-a-part's..

  • 138℃ rules !

  • To all the people thinking this is a cakewalk job, think again. There is a lot of lifting, sorting that you have to do that is not shown in this video. 1 day in decantam can make a person quit a job. There are also hundreds of instruments that you have to recognize. Very informative video and looks almost identical to what we have at CBH.
