Originally developed for use in educational and scientific research institutes, the Android Robotics AR-100 is the first universal android robot to be mass produced in Russia.

"This is inexpensive and very easy to program and it could be programmed to play football, to dance, and here today we will present it possible abilities using a dance show in a group. So this is a basic platform which we hope will be a platform for more developed robots."

The AR-100 utilizes a 32-bit processor in conjunction with embedded Flash memory expandable up to 1 GB, with a Bluetooth interface for data transfer.

The aluminum shell with a polymer coating and durable assembly allows for this to be used in schools and educational facilities into the future.

The robot also features a combined software hardware vision system utilizing lasers which allow it to orientate itself within a 3D space.

The "Andromeda" software used can simultaneously control up to 6 robots allowing for complex movements and perfectly timed choreography.

The robot is currently priced at 28,700 rubles or approximately 1,150 dollars US.
