you only have to break the first one. the momentum of the first one into the second (and so on) is what makes it look impressive when there isn't nearly as much to it as you might think. I am NOT saying that it's easy, but that there is simply is no way to power through blocks that are placed tightly together. but with a space between each one....? yes. same with breaking boards. they break with the grain easily. if your spotter isn't holding the board cross-grain it isn't going to break. ever.
