It's called the TransPerformance guitar system. It was listed in the 1995 edition of guitar world's buyers guide, and listed for around 3000$, depending on the guitar it is to be installed in. As I recall only Les Pauls and similar solidbodies could be modified, as the system needed the vertical clearance to fit into the desired guitar.
