  • It was a surprise to Ringo only. Paul was sitting in the back row formost of the show, the band rehersed the day before without Ringo knowing about it.

  • This is really driving me mad, Somebody here commenting that Ringo is not that good because he is just following the other guy. Well, of course he is That was a SURPRISE. He did NOT rehearse at all with the band. Which means, that last time he played that song was IN STUDIO about FORTY YEARS AGO. Now, let's see smart alec, how good you are, to pick up a song in front of THAT CROWD COLD TURKEY BY THE SEAT OF YOUR PANTS. And Ringo is not a good drummer??!! You gotta be kidding right?

  • wish I could have met John and George...R.I.P.

  • Weird how we have 60-70 year old people who are singing like this, and still make money and fans! only The Beatles couod do that haha!

  • Bottle that crowd energy and make a million dollars!

  • @dansitillo Wrong. John and Paul wrote Birthday in studio without the other two, but the final recording has Ringo on drums (check Wikipedia for credits). The only Beatles songs that Paul recorded as drummer are: Dear Prudence and Back to the USSR (Ringo had quit the band for a short while, much to the others dismay) and Balad of John and Morticia sama (my interpretation of the title). Patty Harrison was the other back vocals, not Linda.

  • To generate that kind of bedlam 40 years after the fact with only 2 of them is a testimony to the impact they made on the world. An impact that will never be seen again.

  • 8 people can't celebrate their birthdays.

  • @sameilert Your right. All these people that criticize Ringo and his playing are morons. The rest of the Beatles could have had anyone on Earth be their drummer but they said he was integral to the Beatles. He was a fucking Beatle!! Ringo is also 70 years old and still drumming. Most people are dead by 70 let alone drumming on a whim at radio city music hall.

  • How nice!

  • @dansitillo Patti Harrison and Yoko.

  • @sameilert Well, birthday was recorded just by John and Paul at studio, and Paul was the drummer on that session. Linda and Yoko were the chorus, but I agree with you.
