The streets are lined with sofafrees today. The move-out dumpsters were full and collection trucks were circling. I was able to get a video of a garbage truck crushing a couch (the third of three couches crushed on the same block). Not for the faint of heart.

Thanks! This neighborhood has a lot of UC Berkeley undergraduates. UC and the city cooperatively run the Cal Move-Out Program, which sets up dumpsters around town and helps students get rid of other unwanted items responsibly. Some of the furniture collected was going to be sold at steep discounts to the town's needy. The couches they destroyed were not in good condition.
